The son of a 68-year-old woman who has disappeared made a public plea Wednesday asking anyone who has spotted his mother -- or the much younger man who recently married her -- to contact police.

The woman's family became alarmed on May 9 when Patsy Labout (pictured, left) married 36-year-old Sean DeGaray.

Labout has been diagnosed with progressive dementia, which robs her of short-term memory and makes her paranoid and easily manipulated, her family said.

The family said that against their wishes, Labout started renting a room in her house to DeGaray (pictured, below) seven years ago.

However, there was never any romantic involvement between the two until the sudden wedding in early May, the family said.

"She reiterated over and over again, that it was not a romantic relationship," said son Andy Lebout.

Andy Lebout told 7NEWS that he and his three siblings believe DeGaray married his mother to gain possession of her 2-acre home in Pleasant View, near Golden, and her other property.

"It was roughly an hour after they were married, he filled out all the paperwork, basically had her sign all of the paperwork, and went to a drug store in Golden, purchased a quit claim deed, filled it out and had her sign it. All of these transactions -- the marriage and the quit claim deed -- all happened within an hour at the courthouse," Andy Lebout said.

Three days later, her family got a restraining order against DeGaray.

"He was served with that restraining order. He left angry that this had occurred and a few minutes later, their mother Patsy left, also angry," said Jefferson County investigator Kate Battan.

Since then, May 12, Patsy Labout has not been seen. DeGaray was last seen on May 15, when he went into the home to get his things. He told the family that he had not seen Patsy.

Both of their cars are now missing and there has been no trace of any credit card use, which worries her family since they have no way of tracking her.

Andy Labout also said that when he approached DeGaray, asking him about the sudden marriage, DeGaray threatened that he would hurt Patsy if Andy did anything about it.

If you have spotted Patsy Labout or Sean DeGaray you are asked to call the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office at (303) 277-0211.
