Tip Leads Edgewater Police To Body In House
Victim's Friend Arrested In Homicide Case

EDGEWATER, Colo. -- Edgewater police have made an arrest in a homicide Monday night.Denver police received a the tip on an "unreported death" at 11 p.m. Monday and forwarded the information to Edgewater police, said Edgewater police Commander Mike Marchese. Through good police work, detectives were led to a house near West 25th Avenue and North Harlan Street. When officers looked through an open shade, they saw a man lying on the floor.Paramedics and police forced their way into the home and realized the man was dead.
Officers have arrested James Clark, 44, a friend of the man. The name of the victim has not been released. Police said Clark is a homeless man who was "an acquaintance of the victim."Clark was booked on suspicion of first-degree murder. He is being held without bond at the Jefferson County Jail.An autopsy on Wednesday found the dead man had been assaulted, but the exact cause of death is still pending.
