Charlie Sheen Accused Of Using Weapon

Actor Ordered To Stay Away From Wife

Actor Charlie Sheen is accused of using a weapon in an alleged case of domestic violence in Aspen.

The "Two and a Half Men" star spent the better part of Christmas Day in jail after being arrested at a home in the ski resort town.

One of the charges he was arrested on is class 5 felony menancing. Police spokeswoman Stephanie Dasaro said that charge entails using a weapon in a threatening way though she didn't provide any details on what kind of weapon Sheen is accused of using.

Sheen was also arrested for investigation of second-degree assault, also a felony, and criminal mischief, a misdemeanor.

Sheen has been freed after posting an $8,500 bond. A mandatory protection order prohibits him from having contact with his wife, Brooke Mueller.

Sheen was scheduled to board a flight to Los Angeles, said Aspen attorney Richard Cummins, who is representing the actor.

“Obviously this is a difficult situation,” Cummins said told The Aspen Times. “This is Christmas and we'll leave it at that.”

Sheen has not been formally charged. That decision will be made by the district attorney's office.

Sheen's wife reportedly called police after he allegedly pushed her. The victim did not require transport to the hospital, police said.

Mueller, who had been having marital problems with Sheen, rented a home in Aspen for several months, according Web site RadarOnline.com,. Sheen flew out to be with her and their two sons for the holiday but things got out control, according to a source quoted by RadarOnline.com. The couple began arguing and according to the source Mueller said that Sheen pushed her and she then called 911.

The couple married in May 2008 and Mueller gave birth to their sons, Bob and Max, in March. He was previously married to actress Denise Richards and has two daughters from that marriage.

Sheen's relationships have been tabloid fodder before, including a bitter divorce and custody battle with Richards in 2006.

In 1990, he was living with actress Kelly Preston, now the wife of John Travolta, when he accidentally shot in her in the arm, according to a report in the Denver Post. The wound needed only a few stitches. The relationship ended soon after.

In 1998, Sheen was hospitalized after he overdosed when he injected cocaine. He entered a court-ordered rehab. He also fueled gossip magazines in the late 1990s when he dated porn stars Ginger Lynn and Heather Hunter.
