14-Year-Old Charged As Adult In Parents' Killing
Mother, Stepfather Found Dead In Their Home

DEL NORTE, Colo. -- A 14-year-old Monte Vista boy has been charged as an adult in the Oct. 27 deaths of his mother and stepfather.John Michael Caudle was charged in Rio Grande District Court Tuesday with two counts of first-degree murder, according to the Valley Courier newspaper. Other charges include assault and two counts of violent crime using a deadly weapon.Tracy Rinebarger, 38, and his wife Joanne Rinebarger, 34, were found dead in their home by a relative on the afternoon of Oct. 27.
Joanne’s son, John Caudle, a freshman at Monte Vista High School, and a family truck were missing. Caudle was later arrested by the Park County Sheriff’s Office, and returned to Rio Grande County. Caudle has been held in the Pueblo Youth Center.John Caudle’s next scheduled court appearance will be Jan. 22.
