PARKER, Colo. -- Parker police have released a composite sketch of man they say used a soft-ball sized boulder to break into two homes last week and threatened one homeowner with a knife. The burglaries occurred Dec. 17 at about 5:30 p.m. in the Quail Creek Estates subdivision. In one home, the burglar confronted home owner Tim Campbell, who was returning from work when he heard noises coming from upstairs.
"The gentleman ran out of our master bedroom, down our stairs and met me here in the hall," said Campbell. Campbell began yelling at the intruder. That's when the man started threatening him."He claimed he had a knife and that he would use it," said Campbell. "He said he'd stab me and kill me."Campbell never saw the weapon, but said he did not want to take any chances. He stepped aside, allowing the burglar to get away with some jewelry and other valuable items taken from a bedroom.Parker police spokeswoman Doreen Jokerst said the brazen burglary was unusual in those parts."The patrol division is increasing patrols in the area to make sure that people are safe during this holiday season," she said. The burglar is described as a white male, 25 to 35 years old and approximately 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 9 inches. He is medium build and is either balding or has a close shaved hair style, police said. He also has a goatee.Anyone with information is asked to call the Parker Police Department at 303-841-9800.
