Another Round Of Pellet Shootings, This Time In Arapahoe County

Car Windows Shot Out By BB Gun Or Similar Weapon

The Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office is looking for the vandals responsible for shooting at least 15 vehicles with a BB gun or similar weapon over the weekend.

The cars that were hit were parked in Centennial or unincorporated Arapahoe County.

The vehicles were randomly targeted and all had their windows shot out, causing between $13,000 and $15,000 in damage, said Arapahoe County Sheriff Grayson Robinson.

Arapahoe County detectives are comparing notes with police in Denver, Lakewood and Westminster -- who have also had pellet shootings on Friday and over the weekend -- to see if there may be a connection between the cases.

In all of the cases, the vandals used pellet or BB guns and shot at cars. In Denver, some of the vehicles were occupied and moving but the vehicles in Arapahoe County were all parked.

Denver police reported Friday that at least nine cars from near South Colorado Boulevard between East Louisiana Avenue and East Florida Avenue were shot at while they were moving. Police were looking for a stolen 1995 Honda Accord with license plate 638-TMC in connection to that incident.

Ten more vehicles were shot at on Saturday in Denver, but those cars were parked, according to the Denver Post.

The boundaries in the Arapahoe County pellet shootings were approximately:
South Buckley Road and Smoky Hill Road
Smoky Hill Road and Liverpool Street
Liverpool Street and Arapahoe Road
Arapahoe Road and South Buckley Road

The sheriff's office has no suspects or leads.

Robinson said he doesn't know if the vandals are teens or adults.

"Whoever it is dosesn't have a lot of productive things to do in their lives, and I'm sure they would be highly offended if someone shot out their windows," Robinson said.

Anyone with information into this case is asked to call the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office at 303-795-4711.
