DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. -- A body found in a drainage ditch on Friday has been identified as a woman who had been reported missing the day before.Dorrea Faith Toole, 44, of Castle Rock, likely died of hypothermia, but the cause of death is pending toxicology testing, said officials with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. Toole did have a “small contusion” to her forehead, but investigators believe it happened when she fell while walking in the Castle Pines Village subdivision, where her body was found.Investigators say there is no evidence that Toole was assaulted, and no foul play is suspected.
Toole’s husband reported her missing Dec. 17, after he couldn’t reach her while he was out of town on business. He had attempted to call his wife at their home, had tried to find her through friends and had contacted Castle Pines Security to check out their home. When all of that failed to turn up Toole, her husband called the sheriff’s office and reported his wife missing.A search of the home did not turn up any signs of foul play. Investigators requested that the Douglas County Search And Rescue team search the entire neighborhood. Toole’s body was found lying in a drainage ditch about ¼ mile from her home.Neighbors said they saw Toole walking alone in the subdivision earlier in the evening.
