DENVER -- Christmas just came early for one lucky Colorado lottery player. A $1 million winning ticket has been sold in Denver. The winner hasn't yet come forward. The ticket was sold at the 7-Eleven at 7270 Broadway. The $1 million winner earned the windfall by matching five numbers in Saturday's Powerball drawing and choosing the Power Play option for an extra $1. The 7-Eleven where the ticket was purchased will receive a $3,000 bonus for selling the lucky ticket.
The winner has until June 17 to claim the prize.Colorado was one of only two Powerball states with a $1 million winner in the Dec. 19 drawing. The other $1 million winner was sold in Indiana. Colorado has sold six $1 million-winning Powerball tickets since January.Saturday's winning numbers were 17, 24, 39, 41, 47, and the Powerball number was 21.Since no one won the drawing's $92.9 million jackpot, the top prize will rise to an estimated $106 million for Wednesday's drawing.
