Car Windows Shot Out With Pellet Gun

‘Couple Dozen’ Incidents Reported

UPDATED: 2:39 pm MST December 20, 2009

Denver police continue to look for several people who used a pellet gun to shoot out the windows of moving vehicles.

Police say there were a “couple dozen reports of car windows being shot out” in Denver, Lakewood and Westminster. Officer Joe Ramirez said Sunday that all the incidents were reported Friday night. There have been “no more calls since that night,” Ramirez said.

Detectives from Denver police’s gang unit were brought in to determine if the shootings were gang-related. That determination hasn’t yet been made, Ramirez said.

The shooters were driving what appeared to be a stolen car. Ramirez said that vehicle also has not been located.

“We don’t have any new information,” Ramirez said Sunday.

The people reportedly shot out the windows of moving vehicles as they drove past. They are believed to be either four males or three males and one female. They are described as Hispanic or Asian and were seen driving a 1995 Honda Accord, license plate 638TMC. The Honda was stolen from the Westminster area. The car has tinted windows with rust on the left front fender.
