Barn Burns Near Elizabeth

ELIZABETH, Colo. -- A barn in rural Elbert County burned early Friday morning, causing $300,000 worth of damage to several antique cars, all-terrain vehicles and other equipment.There were no animals in the barn and no one was injured in the fire, which was reported at 3:30 a.m. at 5611 McCart Ranch Circle, outside Elizabeth, Colo.The first fire units arriving said the structure was fully engulfed by fire when they arrived.
The barn is located on a 40- to 60-acre property.Elizabeth Fire Chief T.J. Steck said firefighters and equipment from the Kiowa, Elbert, Franktown and Rattlesnake fire departments helped battle the blaze.Steck said the cause of the fire hasn't been determined but it didn't appear to be suspicious in nature.
