'Family Ties' Actor Jailed Again In Boulder
Brian Bonsall Accused Of Assaulting Man With Wooden Stool

BOULDER, Colo. -- Former child actor Brian Bonsall has been arrested again, this time for investigation of third-degree assault after a fight in Boulder.Police said Bonsall, 28, now living in Westminster, Colo., was involved in a fight at an apartment in the 1100 block of 11th Street in Boulder on Saturday. The victim told police that Bonsall hit him with a part of a broken wooden stool.Bonsall allegedly told officers he had been drinking that night and didn't remember what had happened but identified the man who called police as his "best friend." Police had been called to the residence three times before they arrested Bonsall.
He starred as Michael J. Fox’s little brother Andy Keaton on the 1980s TV series “Family Ties,”.He lived in Boulder for several years and graduated from Boulder High in 2000. He had several run-ins with authorities after that, including a 2004 arrest for drunk driving and an arrest in 2007 for assaulting his girlfriend.Bonsall was wanted last year for skipping a court date on a charge of violating the terms of his probation after assaulting his girlfriend. Bonsall had allegedly missed daily Breathalyzer tests, submitted a positive breath test, and failed to pay for domestic violence classes, according to prosecutors.Following his latest arrest, a failure to appear charge was added by authorities. He was being held Monday in the Boulder County Jail under a $5,000 bond for the assault charge and a $2,500 bond for the failure to appear charge.
