Meth Lab Found In Bridge Girder?

Hazmat Crew Called In To Investigate Bridge At C-470, I-25

Firefighters were concerned earlier Monday that they may have found a meth lab in an odd and public place. The place is a bridge girder at an intersection of C-470 and Interstate 25.

The Colorado Department of Transportation said it was checking some girders in the area when they found products that could be used to make meth.

The products were either on the girders, or inside the girders, according to Andy Lyon with the South Metro Fire Department.

CDOT workers called 911 and South Metro Hazmat crews were called to the scene to investigate.

After investigating the items left on the girders, the crews determined that there was no meth lab -- just a homeless person's belongings, Lyon said.
