Semi Catches Fire After Colliding With Van
I-70 Shut Down For Several Hours

DENVER -- Westbound Interstate 70 has reopened at Floyd Hill after being closed for over two hours Friday morning because of a tractor-trailer fire. Two eastbound lanes had been open as authorities cleaned up from the accident.The Colorado State Patrol said a van hit a deer or elk around 5 a.m. and had stopped in the middle of the highway. A truck collided with the van and caught fire.No serious injuries were reported. One man was taken to a hospital as a precautionary measure.
CDOT spokesman Joe Tucker said debris was scattered all over the roadway and cleanup was expected to take several hours.Early morning travelers were forced to use U.S. Highway 6 to get to the mountains because of the accident.
