Sheriff Worries Gang Stole Weapons From Officer

Superior Sees Spike In Home Burglaries

Some weapons have been stolen from a police officer's house in Superior and police worry some gang members in Denver might have them.

Boulder county deputies say the police officer's home was one of 11 burglaries so far this year. The town has seen a significant spike in the past few months, said Boulder County sheriff's Sgt. Steve Cullen.

The Boulder County Sheriff's Office says the thieves will knock on your door and if no one answers they go around the back to break in.

They've been taking big-ticket items such as flat screen TVs and computers. Boulder county deputies believe Denver gang members are behind the break-ins.

Homeowners are being asked to be alert and to report suspicious activity.
