Large Crowds At Denver Airport, But Few Delays
150,000 Passengers Expected Wednesday
POSTED: 10:12 am MST November 25, 2009
DENVER -- The holiday travel lines are long, but moving, at Denver International Airport. The airport is expecting its second-busiest Thanksgiving week ever with more than 960,000 fliers expected through Monday. Sunday is set to be the heaviest travel day, followed by Wednesday, when 150,000 passengers are expected to pass through. There were large crowds at the airport Wednesday morning, but no major delays were reported. And fliers seem to be in good spirits.
Across the country, there were scattered airport delays due to heavy volume.
The busiest Thanksgiving week at DIA was in 2006, when more than 966,000 travelers passed through.
