Montrose Band Teacher Accused Of Sex With Student
2010 Trial Set For Andrew Burke

MONTROSE, Colo. -- Montrose High School band teacher Andrew Burke has been ordered to stand trial after he was accused of engaging in sexual intercourse with a student.Burke, 37, was arrested in June and later changed with sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust.According to investigators, Burke had sex on at least two occasions with a student who was a 17-year-old senior when the relationship started during a spring break trip to Disneyland.
Burke told the girl to lie about how old she was when they first had sex, according to an arrest affidavit. He was arrested after Burke visited the girl's home when she returned from college and the girl told her parents.Burke was placed on leave following his arrest.His trial has been set for April 26, 2010.
