Trooper Injured In Accident Near Monte Vista
Ryan Hafner Involved In Single Vehicle Crash

MONTE VISTA, Colo. -- A Colorado State trooper has been seriously injured in a single vehicle accident near Monte Vista in southern Colorado. Colorado State Patrol spokesman Cpl. Eric Wynn said trooper Ryan Hafner was trying to find a suspected drunken driver when the accident happened on Rio Grande County Rd. 3, just east of Monte Vista, late Saturday night. Wynn said the trooper was airlifted to St. Anthony's Central in Denver where he was in stable condition Sunday night.
Hafner joined the force last January.
