2 More Suspects In Racially-Motivated Assaults Arrested

Police: Downtown Attacks

UPDATED: 5:08 pm MST November 23, 2009

Two more suspects in a string of racially-motivated attacks in Downtown Denver have been arrested.

Torrence McCall, 26, was among the 33 men and juvenile boys that Denver police have arrested in connection to 26 attacks on white and Hispanic men. Officers said McCall turned himself in at police headquarters Sunday afternoon.

A juvenile wanted in connected with the robberies, assaults and racially-motivated attacks was arrested Monday in Indiana. The Denver District Attorney will work on extraditing him to Colorado.

One suspect -- Allen Ford -- remains at large.

Police have said the attacks happened over a four-month period, and usually involved the gang members blindsiding the victim, beating them and robbing them. The suspects allegedly stole wallets, iPods and cash and sold videotapes of the crimes as entertainment.

Many of the other 32 suspects were arrested in a sweep on Friday.

A task force of Denver police, the FBI and District Attorney Mitch Morrissey's office said the suspects have been involved in 26 incidents since July. It was not clear why authorities didn't warn the public sooner about the ongoing attacks.

Authorities said small groups of black men and youths tried to knock out white or Latino men by hitting them in the head. They sometimes taunted them with racial insults during the attack, according to investigators.

Denver police would like anyone with information or knows the location of Allen Ford to call Crime Stopper at 720-913-STOP (6787).
