Two Men Accused Of Burglary, Assault Are In Custody

PARKER, Colo. -- Police were called out to a house on South Sopris Creek Drive around midnight for reports of shots fired, said Sara Walla, spokeswoman for Parker police.When the occupants arrived, they attempted to confront the alleged robbers. The confrontation escalated to a physical altercation that moved out to the driveway where a weapon was fired, said Walla.One person was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries not related to gunshot wounds.
Residents in the neighborhood tell 7NEWS police canvassed the area and knocked on doors asking if they had seen strange activity.At this time, police believe the suspects and the residents had a relationship prior to the home invasion. Police will not be releasing the names of those in custody until the investigation is complete.
