Subway Clerk Tackles Robber, Gets Money Back

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- A Subway clerk robbed at gunpoint decided to follow the robber and get the money back.The robber went into the Subway on Garden of the Gods Road Thursday about 7:45 p.m. According to the police report, the robber pointed a silver handgun at the store employee and demanded money. The clerk gave the robber cash from the register.When the robber left the store, the employee followed the robber and tackled him in the parking lot. Colorado Springs police said during the struggle all of the money and the handgun were recovered by the store employee, who was not injured.
Officers called to the scene said they set up a containment zone and searched the area, but didn't find the robber.The gunman is described as a white male, 40 to 50 years old, wearing a dark coat, black ski mask, brown gloves and pink glasses.
