2 Arrested After Assaults Posted On YouTube

Video Shows Young Men Attacking Unsuspecting Pedestrians, Bicyclists

Police in Minnesota have arrested two people in connection with a series of assaults that were taped and briefly posted online at YouTube, KARE-TV reported.

A 19-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy were taken into custody Tuesday, St. Paul police said.

They have not been charged and police are seeking more suspects.

The St. Paul Pioneer Press, citing an affidavit in support of a search warrant filed Wednesday, reported that the video is about six minutes long and shows young men participating in attacks. "(T)he suspects would sneak up and attack the victims without warning or provocation. ... The victims ranged in age from the very young to the elderly," the affidavit said.

At the start of the video, which was removed Tuesday from YouTube, eight young men are pictured with their names on the screen, the Pioneer Press reported.

An investigator identified suspects through the video introductions, and it appears the young men gave their real names, the newspaper reported.
