POSTED: 11:54 a.m. MDT April 26, 2003
Boulder police are searching for two men who sexually assaulted a 26-year-old woman on the Boulder Creek Path early Saturday morning.
Police said that they received a call at 2:52 a.m. from an eyewitness who interrupted a sexual assault in progress, just behind Boulder High School's soccer field.
The two suspects, described as white males, were seen running north from the location. Two other witnesses ran after the suspects, but were unable to catch them, Boulder police said.
The victim, who is from Illinois, was taken to Boulder Community Hospital, where she was treated and released.
She told detectives that she was out with friends on the Pearl Street Mall when she became separated from her friends.
The suspects are described as white males, shorter than 5 feet 6 inches tall, with one suspect possibly wearing a royal blue hooded sweatshirt.
Detectives found two baseball caps, believed to belong to the suspects, at the scene. One was black with an "A" on the bill. The other was blue and orange, with the "Miami Dolphins" emblem on the bill.
If you have any information about the case, you are asked to contact Detective Jane Harmer at (303) 441-3381.
