Cat Set On Fire Gets Adopted

Someone Poured Accelerant Before Setting Maynard On Fire, Shelter Says

Friday the 13th turns out to be a lucky day for a cat that was set on fire in August.

Maynard, who has been through 12 surgeries to patch and graft his skin, was adopted out Friday.

Several people offered to adopt Maynard but he seemed to pick his new owner, Donna, by going right over to her and nestling in her lap when she met him at the Aurora Animal Shelter.

There is still a $400 reward to find the person who poured a chemical accelerant on the cat and set him on fire.

When he was found on East Iliff Avenue and South Chambers Road, he had serious burns on his back and side.
