Livin' In The '60s

Mid-Week Warm-Up Expected

POSTED: 7:39 am MST November 8, 2009
UPDATED: 5:40 pm MST November 8, 2009

November has come in mild and dry for Colorado... so far. We had a weak surge of cooler air on Sunday which brought a few more clouds and temperatures in the 50s. There could be a few light showers overnight into Monday morning, however most of the moisture is found in the mid-levels of the atmosphere, with the lower-levels fairly dry. So, any shower activity should be light. If any showers do develop, we could see a rain-snow mix, especially in the foothills. Denver's overnight lows should be at or slightly above freezing, so no snowfall accumulation is expected.

Monday is expected to be a little on the cool-side, with highs in the mid 50s and clouds in the morning. Look for some clearing by afternoon.

The Denver Broncos will be hosting the Pittsburgh Steelers for Monday Football, and our forecast looks just about perfect. Temperatures will be in the 40s at kickoff, but with clearing skies, expect a chilly night. If you're headed to the game, be prepared for temperatures in the lower 30s by late evening.

For Tuesday and Veterans Day, a fairly strong southwesterly flow of air in the mid-levels will bring some warmth back to our area. Dry and mild conditions will continue through Wednesday. Beyond that, our forecast models are showing some disagreement. There is a chance for an increase in clouds and some precipitation by late Thursday.

The Jet Stream is not showing much in the way of strong ridges or deep troughs for the next few days, but keep the chance of rain or snow in mind as we get into the later part of the week.
