Crews To Search For Missing Camper On Sunday

BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. -- The Boulder County Sheriff's Office is searching for a missing man after he never came back from a camping trip two weeks ago.Boulder County Sheriff spokesman Dan Walter said 19-year-old Justin Pleiss left to go camping on Oct. 25 in the Nederland area. Family members became concerned when Pleiss did not return on Monday, and reported him missing to authorities.Walter said the sheriff's office learned about the missing person case on Tuesday, and deputies began looking for Pleiss during their patrols of campgrounds in the Nederland area.
Officials and family and friends of Pleiss found evidence that he was camping in the Magnolia Recreation Area after a search on Saturday, Walter said. Crews will coordinate a search of the area on Sunday morning.Pleiss is described as being 6 feet 2 inches, weighing 150 pounds, with long blond hair and blue eyes. He had a large red backpack and either hitchhiked or rode the bus up to the area.Anybody with information about Pleiss' whereabouts is asked to call the Boulder County Sheriff's Office at 303-441-4444
