Another Near-Record Day, Cooler Weather Coming

Temperatures Hit 70s For Third Straight Day

POSTED: 9:15 am MST November 7, 2009
UPDATED: 6:42 pm MST November 7, 2009

What a way to start November!

For the third day in a row, temperatures hit the 70s along the Front Range Saturday. Denver's high reached 73, just five degrees away from the record.

Saturday night will be partly cloudy and cool with more breezy winds. Overnight lows will drop into the upper 30s.

Sunday starts out mild with partly cloudy skies, but temperatures will be noticeably cooler as a cold front drops through Colorado. Afternoon highs will be 10-15 degrees cooler with temperatures in the low 60s.

As the front moves in from the northwest, the mountains will get the chance for moisture first. Only light rain and snow is expected Sunday afternoon and evening in the high country.

For the Denver metro area, a few rain showers will develop late Sunday night and continue through Monday afternoon. As temperatures cool Sunday night, some light snow will mix in along the Front Range foothills. Little to no accumulation is expected by Monday morning.

Monday will again be cooler with highs in the upper 40s. Any rain that falls in the Denver area will be light, with showers ending by the afternoon. The Denver Broncos will be hosting the Pittsburgh Steelers for Monday Night Football and the forecast looks favorable. Expect partly cloudy skies, but make sure to bring a coat as temperatures will be in the low 40s by kickoff.
