DENVER -- The Tattered Cover bookstore has been a fixture in Denver for more than three decades. And now the book store is making a major change at a LoDo location. It's going to start buying and selling used books.Sellers may bring their used books to the LoDo store's buyer from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.Lead Buyer Cathy Langer told 7NEWS that sellers will get store credit to buy other merchandise.
"Generally speaking, we'll be giving store credit for $1.50 or more per book, and we'll be selling used books for about half of their original value," general manager Matthew Miller told the Denver Post. Textbooks and computer books will not be accepted. At first, used books will be sold only at the LoDo location, but the sales are expected to expand to the Colfax Avenue and Highlands Ranch locations soon.
