Report: Alcohol Suspected In Crash

LONGMONT, Colo. -- Two people were killed Friday morning when two vehicles collided in a Longmont intersection.Both of the people who died were in a sport utility vehicle. A father and child were in a sedan. The child, whose age was not immediately released, was not injured but the father was transported to Longmont United Hospital.It happened at 17th Avenue -- also known as Hygiene Road -- and Ute Creek Drive at about 6:17 a.m.
Cmdr. Tim Lewis told the Longmont Times-Call that investigators suspect those in the SUV may have been under the influence of alcohol, based on evidence at the scene.Names were withheld until next of kin could be contacted.
