Woman In Fort Morgan Stabbed To Death
Suspect Arrested In Greeley

FORT MORGAN, Colo. -- A Fort Morgan woman was stabbed to death late Tuesday night and a 25-year-old Greeley man was arrested in connection with the crime.According to police, officers were sent to a home in the 400 block of West Kiowa at 11:36 p.m. and found a woman of East African descent dead.Investigating officers obtained information that led to an arrest warrant being issued for Ahmed Abdi and contacted Greeley police with the information.
Abdi was arrested and transported to the Morgan County Detention Center where he's being held for investigation of second-degree murder and second-degree assault."This investigation proceeded quickly because of the help we received from the public. The information as it came in was important and was a key part in helping the investigation move quickly before the evidence was gone," police said in a news release.Anyone with any further information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact the Fort Morgan Police Department at 970-867-5678.It was the first slaying in Fort Morgan in three years.
