DENVER -- Three people are recovering from gunshot wounds from what Denver police said appears to be some sort of overnight shootout outside a nightclub. Officers found two victims in a parking lot outside Club Posh, and while they were there, officers heard more gunshots nearby. A third person police believe to have been shot in the nearby parking lot later walked into a hospital. The shootings happened early Sunday, right about the time of returning to Standard Time.
The owner of Club Posh, Stephen Lyons, told 7NEWS before the shooting a crowd had started to form in the parking lot because the club was full."At some point people started fighting and then gunshots erupted in the parking lot," Lyons said. Officers spotted a car fleeing the area and chased it about 6 miles north. The car crashed, and two people were arrested. None of the shooting victims, nor the two people arrested, have been named by police. Authorities haven't said yet whether the people in the car were behind the shootings.
