No Tricks, Just Treats This Halloween

DENVER -- Mother Nature showed she can definitely be scary this time of year, but Halloween's forecast doesn't look too frightening. Skies will be mostly sunny over the I-25 Corridor with afternoon highs in the upper 40s to the mid 50s.

The early-season snow storm is finally out of here and the snow is already beginning to melt along the Front Range. As always, make sure to check with CDOT before making any travel plans this winter.

When the kids go out for trick-or-treating, temperatures will be near 40 degrees at 6 p.m. and then drop into the mid 30s through the rest of the evening. Even though it won't be snowing, make sure to bundle the little ghosts and goblins up before they head outside!

The state's steady, two-day storm brought more than 3 feet of snow to the foothills and close to 2 feet in many metro area locations west of Interstate 25.

The snow was off and on Thursday, ending Thursday evening for most of the metro area. By the time the storm moved out, accumulations were in the 10 to 24 inch range for the many cities. Why was the storm so steady and went on for so long? The low pressure system that developed over the Four Corners took its sweet time progressing through the region. It eventually moved northeast of the state, and spread rain and snow to the upper midwest and into the middle of the country on Friday.
