DENVER, Colo -- After several days of gray and white, the sky finally showed some blue over Colorado Friday. The gigantic early-season snow storm is finally out of here and the snow is already beginning to melt along the Front Range. The main issue on the roads has changed from ice and snow to splashback. Watch out for areas of standing water in the metro area. That water will likely freeze again overnight Friday so make sure to check with CDOT before making any travel plans.Temperatures will stay cold tonight with lows in the low 20s in the metro area. Some light snow will still be possible Friday night in the northern and central mountains, with areas of blowing snow. Additional accumulations will be 1 to 3 inches.
Mother Nature showed she can definitely be scary this time of year, but Halloween's forecast doesn't look too frightening. Skies will be mostly sunny over the I-25 Corridor with afternoon highs in the upper 40s.When the kids go out for trick-or-treating, temperatures will be near 40 degrees at 6 p.m. and then drop into the mid 30s through the rest of the evening. Even though it won't be snowing, make sure to bundle the little ghosts and goblins up before they head outside! The state's steady, two-day storm brought more than 3 feet of snow to the foothills and close to 2 feet in many metro area locations west of Interstate 25.Here is a look at some of the most recent snowfall totals from the two-day storm:
