Denver Police Crush Sex Offender's Car

Balazs Toth's Car Cited As 'Public Nuisance'

A man who received a 90-day jail sentence after pleading guilty to attempting to sexually assault a child in Denver lost his car.

Denver police had the vehicle of 37-year-old Balazs Toth crushed on Tuesday, saying it's a public nuisance.

"If our public-nuisance abatement unit classifies the vehicle that way, and if it was used to commit, conduct or facilitate sex assault or attempted sex assault, that's going to result in the crushing of his vehicle," said Technician Loretta Beauvais.

Toth was accused of going online to try to lure a child to a McDonald's parking lot for sex last December. The former Roman Catholic schoolteacher was sentenced in June to jail and five years of sex offender probation after pleading guilty to criminal attempt to commit sexual assault on a child. He was also required to register as a sex offender.

Toth's car was crushed at Colorado Auto and Parts, 2151 W. Radcliffe Ave., in Englewood.

Toth's phone number isn't listed, and he couldn't be reached for comment.
