Katie Trexler

7NEWS Weekday Morning Anchor

Katie Trexler joined the 7NEWS team in March 2000 as an anchorwoman and weekday reporter.

A Denver native, Katie is glad to return home after several years of working around the country. She began her career in Eureka, Calif., before moving on to KOB-TV in Albuquerque, N.M., where she was a weekend anchorwoman and weekday reporter.

Most recently, she worked at WJBK-TV in Detroit as an investigative reporter. She won an Emmy Award and other awards from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters for her work in Detroit.

Katie is a graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder, where she earned a double degree in broadcast journalism and political science. Katie says that after growing up watching news in the Denver area, she is honored to work in this market.

In her spare time Katie likes to escape to the outdoors for hiking and running. She also enjoys reading, going to the movies and spending time with her husband and family.
