DENVER, Colo. -- Yesterday’s system that brought snow to parts of Colorado is now moving east into Kansas. Continued snowfall and gusty winds in eastern portions of the state this morning resulted in the closer of I-70 for a few hours.Downtown Denver did not see much accumulating snow yesterday but the metro area did pick up nearly a half inch of moisture from this storm—the 7News team reported nearly .80" of moisture here at Denver's 7.Here is a look at some of the most recent snowfall totals:
14 inches - Agate 11 inches - Elizabeth 8 inches - Last Chance 8 inches - Highlands Ranch 7.5 inches - Castle Pines 6.4 inches - Bennett 5.4 inches - Parker 5.0 inches - Franktown 4.5 inches - Castle Rock 2.7 inches – EnglewoodThe heaviest snowfall was over the Wet Mountains and the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. There was up to a foot and a half of snow at elevations above 10,000 feet.Clearer skies today allowed for sunshine to warm Denver up. Temperatures will still remain well below average, with highs in the upper 40s.A warming trend will continue for tomorrow into Saturday. Clear skies and sunshine will make for a nice start to the weekend. Pick day of the week is Saturday, with sunny skies and highs in the mid 60s.A weak cold front will move through Colorado late Saturday, dropping temperatures for Sunday.
