Some Women Prefer Cell Phone Over Sex

Denver Survey Finds Residents Spend 3 Hours On Phone Every Day

Sex or a cell phone? Cell phones aren't just for chatting any more.

A new survey shows 33 percent of Denver-area women would put their sex lives on hold for a year in order to use a mobile device.

The survey, conducted in September by Samsung Mobile, also found that only 20 percent of men would make the same choice.

The study also found several other patterns in how Denver residents use their cell phones in their daily life, including:

  • 78 percent of Denver cell phone users regularly send and receive text messages. Nearly 39 percent rely on text messages to communicate, instead of having actual phone conversations.

  • The average Denver resident spends 20 percent of their day on their cell phone. That's about 3 hours spent chatting, texting, surfing, or sending photos or video messages.

  • Women are more likely to talk on their cell phones than men.

The survey was conducted by Kelton Research and included 300 cell phone users in Denver.
