Denver police released the name of a man arrested near the University of Denver campus on charges of robbery and burglary.

Tarius L. Simes, 33, was arrested on Sept. 19 and faces charges of conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery and conspiracy to commit first-degree burglary.

Police spokesman Sonny Jackson said Simes was arrested after he ran away from officers trying to question him.

Jackson said the investigation is continuing and did not say if Simes was responsible for a series of home invasions and burglaries near DU.

There were about 20 burglaries between last November and March in the area around campus.
