BLACK HAWK, Colo. -- 7NEWS received a sneak peek of Black Hawk's newest hotel.

The Ameristar Casino and Hotel is 33 floors high, features 536 rooms and has a full service spa with six treatment rooms. Many of the guest rooms feature luxury amenities and mountain views. The rooftop features a glassed-in pool, heated patio and outdoor fire pits.

"It's going to be unlike anything in the Blackhawk market," said Reggie Fullwood, with Ameristar Casino and Hotel.

The hotel is set to open Sept. 29.

Ameristar's competitors, the Isle of Capri Casino, said they welcome the competition despite being the market's dominant player for 10 years.

"I think if they are able to grow the market then everybody will benefit," said John Bohannon, with Isle of Capri Casino.

In fact, the market has been growing since the passage of Amendment 50. Both Ameristar and the Isle of Capri Casino said they have seen more gamblers since the law passed. It extended casino hours to 24 hours, increased the betting limits to $100 and allowed table games such as craps.

Ameristar said they thought 18 tables were enough but are increasing the number to 23 to meet the demand.

"Gaming is very good right now," said Fullwood.
