Colorado Men Arrested In Kansas After Traffic Stop

DENVER -- Two Colorado men could face life in prison after being indicted on federal cocaine charges in Kansas.
Court documents show a Kansas Highway Patrol drug-sniffing dog found the cocaine -- with an estimated $1.1 million street value -- in a spare tire following a traffic stop near Topeka Saturday on Interstate 70. The 1995 Toyota 4Runner, with Colorado license plates, was stopped for a registration violation, authorities said.
The two occupants gave permission for the dog to search the vehicle, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.
The U.S. Attorney's office said that Julio Caesar Granados-Orozco, 26, and
Miguel Orozco-Hernandez, 29, of Aurora, intended to distribute
about 46 pounds of cocaine.
The men would face a minimum sentence of 10 years in federal prison, if convicted.
