Couple's Death In Jeffco Determined To Be Murder-Suicide

UPDATED: 5:10 pm MDT August 24, 2009

The deaths of a couple found inside their home in the foothills of Jefferson County was determined to be a result of murder-suicide, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said Monday.

The bodies were found Sunday afternoon at a home located at 23075 Kiowa Road, off Parmalee Gulch Road, just north of Indian Hills.

Both the 27-year-old man and the 27-year-old woman sustained gunshot wounds. It appears as though the man was responsible for both deaths, said Jacki Kelley, with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.

The landlord who owned the house found the pair deceased at about 4 p.m. Sunday. He said the man and woman had been living together in the home for several months.

Their names are being withheld pending the notification of next of kin.

Neighbors said the couple was going to be moving out soon and the landlord was at the property to show the house to potential renters.
