No-Knock Raid Executed In Auto Theft Investigation
Raid Connected With Jeffco Deputy Injury, Suspect Shooting Earlier

WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. -- Members of the Jefferson County Regional Auto Theft Task force executed a "no knock" raid in the 4600 block of Miller Street in Wheat Ridge Thursday night.The warrant was a result of information gathered during Wednesday's arrest of auto theft suspects in Englewood. That's where one of the suspects was shot and Jefferson County sheriff's deputy Art Peterson was injured.The information led the task to the house on Miller Street. During the raid, a nearby Montessori School was locked down.
Several stolen cars in the surrounding neighborhood have also been recovered. Three adults were arrested on unrelated warrants, according to police. New criminal charges relating to the search warrant are pending further investigation.In Wednesday's incident, Peterson attempted to stop a stolen pickup truck and was struck by it before he fired a shot that hit the driver.
