ASPEN, Colo. -- The bear wanted for attacking a woman in her Aspen home Monday night is believed to have broken into a neighbor's home the next night.Monday night about 10 p.m., a woman on Cemetery Lane was walking to the office in her home when she came face to face with a bear. She turned to get away and the bear scratched her on the back. The woman is OK, the bear got away.Officials believe that the same bear broke into another person's house about 24 hours later in the same neighborhood, using the same method — tearing into locked French doors, according to Glenwood Springs Post Independent.
John Case told the newspaper a large bear broke into his house shortly after midnight Wednesday. Case heard noise, walked out of his bedroom and saw the bear standing on all fours in his dining room about 30 feet away. The bear left. No one was hurt.Wildlife officers are looking for the bear. If it is caught, the bear will be euthanized because of its aggressive behavior.
