Check Out Lawn Aeration Companies Before You Hire

Mile Hi Aeration Says It Will Change Its Fliers

No one wants to see his or her lawn die of thirst. So, when someone promises help and has some tips for saving your lawn during the drought, that should be good news, but sometimes it isn't.

Viewers in southeast Denver sent 7NEWS a flier with drought tips. At the top of the flier are the logos for Colorado State University's extension service and Denver Water.

What the business owner doesn't have is permission from either of those agencies to use their logos.

The flier comes from Mile Hi Aeration, a company Call 7 for Help reported on last year.

Mile Hi Aeration drew complaints from customers for poor service and for damaging lawn sprinkler systems when its workers poked holes in the soil to aerate.

Mile Hi Aeration's owner said he has removed the CSU and Denver Water logos and he has another batch of fliers ready to go out.

At the bottom of the company's flier is a red flag that should make you skeptical of any offer you see.

It says, "We'll be in the neighborhood. We're doing work for some of your neighbors. We can do the work for you too."

No matter what service is offered, no matter which company is involved, never buy simply because they're in your neighborhood. Check them out first!

The Colorado Fair Debt Collection Practices Act is a state law that governs the actions of debt collectors and collection agencies. It provides consumers with certain rights and restricts the practices collection agencies may use to attempt to collect debts. For example, the law prohibits collection agencies from using harassment, misleading, and unfair practices. The law prohibits unnecessary disclosure of the debt to parties not obligated to pay the debt. The law generally does not apply to creditors collecting their own debts.
