Denver Police Officer Hurt In Traffic Accident

Officer Hospitalized With Serious Injuries

A Denver police officer is hospitalized in serious condition after a traffic crash Thursday night.

It happened at S. Colorado Boulevard and E. Bayaud Street just before 10:30 p.m.

Police spokesman Sonny Jackson said the unidentified officer was heading northbound on S. Colorado Blvd. when a southbound sport utility vehicle turned in front of the officer's patrol car.

The driver of the SUV was not hurt. The officer's injuries were said to be not life-threatening.

The investigation into the accident is still on-going to determine who was at fault.
