Witnesses Hear 2 Shots, See Man Running Away

Denver police are searching for a gunman after two people were shot in on Tuesday night.

Police spokesman Detective John White said the shooting happened about 8:45 p.m. at 18885 East Kelly Place.

One victim was shot in the leg and the other was shot in the arm, White said. Both victims' were in stable condition.

Witnesses told 7NEWS reporter Molly Hendrickson they heard two gunshots and saw a man running from the scene.

The side of one vehicle was pocked by a shotgun blast.

Several officers were searching a four to five block area for the gunman, who was seen running through backyards.

The Denver police helicopter circled the area, shining a spotlight in yards.

A police officer radioed that a witness reported seeing a man with a gun in the area. The witness described the gunman as a stocky black man, who was about 5 feet 9 inches tall, 180 pounds. The man was wearing a blue shirt and red shorts.
