Lakewood police are looking for the two men responsible for a Friday morning shooting that injured a man and a woman.
The shooting occurred around 10 a.m. inside a unit at the 12th Avenue Apartments, at 7755 West 12th Avenue, said Steve Davis with the Lakewood Police Department.
The woman has a gunshot wound to the leg and the man has an abrasion or similar type of minor wound to his head or neck, Davis said. Neither of their injuries are considered life-threatening but both have been transported to the hospital, Davis said.
"I don't want to live here and worry about whether I'm going get shot, if a bullet is going to ricochet and hit my daughter. Is it going to go through a wall? What's going to happen?" asked Deann Orlick as she held her 5-month-old baby.
Not many witnesses heard the shooting, and the descriptions of the getaway vehicle remain unclear, Davis said.
He said one witness said the suspect car is a small red pickup truck and another witness said it was full-size black pickup truck.
"That's not uncommon in the early parts of the investigation ... Everything is a little sketchy for us. We'll try to iron those out," Davis said.
The driver of the truck was described as a Hispanic man, wearing a white shirt. The other man was described as a white man with blond hair.
Investigators said the driver of the vehicle was last seen heading northbound on Wadsworth Boulevard.
Police do not have a motive for the shooting and have not released the identities of the victims.
Investigators were collecting evidence, including shell casings.
