2 people arrested after double stabbing at apartment in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Police arrested a man and a woman in connection with a double stabbing in an apartment in Colorado Springs.

Police got a 911 call reporting a fight in an apartment on East Fountain Boulevard just after 10 p.m. Sunday.  The caller reported hearing a woman yelling in the background that she was bleeding, police said.

When officers got to the apartment, they could hear people inside, but no one answered the door.  After forcing their way inside, the officers said they found several people and large amounts of blood, but no one with injuries.

A few minutes later, Colorado Springs police got notification that two stabbing victims had arrived at Memorial Hospital.

Both victims had serious injuries including several stab wounds, but are expected to survive, according to police.

The victims identified the attacker as Daqwan Toussaint.

Toussaint was arrested on a first degree assault charge.  A woman named Brittany Cranmer was also arrested and charged with accessory to commit first degree assault.
