WESTMINSTER, Colo. -- A suspected natural gas leak has resulted in the closure of eastbound 92nd Avenue between Yates and Raleigh streets."It’s a dangerous situation," said Westminster Fire Department Capt. Dave Sagel earlier in the afternoon, "We're not going to let people pass through a potentially explosive atmosphere. The street will be closed until we can identify the source of the leak."Both directions of 92nd Avenue were closed for several hours but westbound was reopened just after 2 p.m. and only eastbound remained closed at that time.
The odor of natural gas was in the neighborhood air. There were no evacuations ordered as a result of the leak.Crews were drilling into the 92nd Avenue in an effort to repair the leak.
