DENVER -- The 4th of July barbeque likely got rained out tonight, but most of the Denver-area fireworks shows should be alright.A large band of rain is moving out of the metro area and toward the southeast. These storms will continue to produce heavy rain, abundant lightning, and large hail as they move over the eastern plains.Another round of storms is moving out of the Front Range mountains and into northern Colorado. These storms will impact Fort Collins and Greeley with more heavy rain and hail.
It is possible that some of the fireworks celebrations will be delayed tonight because of thunderstorms in the area, but most of the storms will move out of the metro area by 10 p.m.Make sure to bring a jacket though to the fireworks displays because temperatures will only be in the low 60s this evening.Conditions will not dry out until the beginning of next week. However, it looks as though warmer weather and drier atmospheric conditions will stick around at least until the middle of the week.Be sure to head down to the Cherry Creek Arts Festival this weekend.
