DENVER -- Ticketmaster is out, TicketHorse is in.Kroenke Sports Enterprises, which owns the Pepsi Center along with the Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche, announced Wednesday that they have chosen TicketHorse to exclusively sell tickets to Pepsi Center events. The company uses technology developed by Veritix and has already been selling tickets at Dick's Sporting Goods Park and the Paramount Theater.
The company will replace controversial Ticketmaster which has been sued for its ticket selling practices.Kroenke's 10-year contract with Ticketmaster recently expired.Paul Andrews of Kroenke Sports said the new company will provide a better experience for Colorado ticket buyers.Buyers will be able to view individual seats before purchase and have the option of reselling them online through TicketHorse. In many instances, the Web site will eliminate the middle man and prevent duplicate tickets from being offered for resale."No longer will you wonder if the seat you bought on the secondary market is stolen or counterfeit," said Andrews. He said a paper ticket will no longer be required. The ticket buyer can swipe their credit card at the entry gate for access. Andrews compared it to e-tickets which are widely used by the airline industry.
